ALS Hero: Laura Weiss

by | Mar 11, 2019

“ALS Hero” is a series focusing on highlighting notable PALS who have made an impact on their communities and the world at large.

In June of 2017 Laura Weiss was diagnosed with ALS. Since then, she’s become a tireless advocate for her fellow PALS! Laura’s active in many ALS-centered online communities, she’s a top Walk to Defeat ALS fundraiser and has already participated in two ALS research studies. Laura’s passion for helping others inspires her to offer whatever advice and experience she can share from her own situation.

I want to spread the word and educate everyone. I want to go to Washington and speak on behalf of everyone with ALS to Congress, Senate and the President. I want everyone to know the details of this disease so that more of an effort can be made to treat ALS with effective methods. It has been said that ALS is not an incurable disease, it just needs to have more money and energy focused on finding a cure.
